Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim on Garnacho’s future and big summer transfer plans | OneFootball

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim says he and the club have “a lot to do” this summer and admits there will be big changes, which could include the departure of Alejandro Garnacho.

Reports in recent days suggested that Amorim has told Garnacho to find a new club this summer and following United’s defeat in the Europa League final, Garnacho complained to the media about not starting the match.

The Argentine forward was left out of United’s squad for the win over Aston Villa and explaining that decision, Amorim said: “Garnacho is Manchester United player that is not in the squad today but he is a normal player in our club and I have no news that that will change today.

“Garnacho is one more player of Manchester United. So I don’t know what is going to happen in the future but he is a normal player.”

Asked about United’s summer transfer plans, the Portuguese coach revealed: “It’s hard to talk about that because we have the fair play rules and we are limited. Especially this year so we need to be patient.

“We have to be patient because we have the limitation of fair play rules.”

After the match, it was confirmed that Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen and Jonny Evans will be leaving the club. The crowd thanked the trio and Amorim said: “Of course we are going to have changes.

“You saw three players today are leaving and they are characters. We need these kind of characters here.”

United’s manager continued: “We have to make some changes in our squad and we have a lot to do, so I’m really excited in this moment.

“I have to deliver next year. I’m really confident that we are going to play better, to have more results but it’s going to take time. So we know that we will have to suffer again but of course we need to to have better results.”
