PSG had reportedly been keeping an eye on Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki, who’s also drawing interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham.
Cherki, 21, has been in outstanding form this season, racking up 12 goals and 20 assists in 44 matches. His breakout campaign has put him firmly on the radar as one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects.
Graeme Bailey of TBR Football previously noted that Manchester United is among several Premier League clubs tracking Cherki. Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Newcastle are also believed to be monitoring him closely.
The interest isn’t limited to England, either. Bayern Munich and PSG were both thought to have re-entered the race following Cherki’s impressive stretch. However, Foot Mercato recently reported that PSG have pulled out of the chase. No talks are taking place, and none are expected in the near future.

Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Manchester United have entered the race for Rayan Cherki. As for Liverpool, Cherki is not currently a priority and isn’t considered a hot topic within the club. Their focus for that position remains firmly on Florian Wirtz.
Recently, Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says there have been plenty of talks about PSG going after Cherki, but for now, they’re not planning to make a move.
Meanwhile, with all the recent buzz about Cherki, Christian Falk says Borussia Dortmund remain interested in the midfielder. That said, any transfer might hinge on Dortmund’s player sales or the money they bring in from the Club World Cup.
“Dortmund will discuss whether or not to pursue Rayan Cherki at the end of the season,” the Bayern Insider exclusively informed CaughtOffside.
“BVB are, for what it’s worth, still highly interested in the Olympique Lyonnaise player. However, without any sales or an outstanding performance at the upcoming Club World Cup (worth €1.78 million per group stage win), there is hardly much of a transfer budget available.”
Moreover, Falk spoke about where Liverpool sit in this Cherki race and hints that they might be closer to where PSG are at the moment.
“Negotiations could then become very difficult again, as they were previously in January,” Falk added. “There’s no real news about Cherki and Liverpool.”
