It appears as though AS Monaco want to hang onto their Austrian coach for a little longer. Ahead of the 2023-24 Ligue 1 campaign, the Principality club hired Adi Hütter to take charge of this team and turn them back into a contender.

The former Red Bull Salzburg and Eintracht Frankfurt boss has delivered, with his side currently tied with Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the Ligue 1 table, having guided them back into the UEFA Champions League last season.

Across all competitions this season, Hütter’s men are yet to lose, currently sitting fourth in the UEFA Champions League table with seven points after three matchdays.

Hütter’s contract is set to expire in June 2025, but the club are aiming to extend his stay in the Principality a little longer.

According to L’Équipe, the club is discussing an extension with him, with an offer expected to be submitted next month in the hopes that an agreement can be finalised by January.

They are coming off an emphatic 5-1 triumph over Red Star Belgrade in their previous Champions League fixture.

The 54-year-old has won over 60% of his matches as manager of Les Rouge et Blanc, with his side conceding the fewest goals in Ligue 1 this season (four).

Monaco are unbeaten in their previous 13 matches across all competitions at Stade Louis II. Next up for Hütter’s men is a date with OGC Nice in the Derby de la Côte d’Azur on Sunday at Allianz Riviera.
