Roma and Napoli are still said to be in talks for the swap deal involving both Giacomo Raspadori and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The idea of an exchange still stands after initial rumors emerged a few weeks ago.
Both players have their contracts set to expire in 2026.
The difference, however, lies in the salaries, with Pellegrini earning more than double what Raspadori makes.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, this could prompt Napoli to open talks for a separate transfer for Pellegrin on a permanent basis.
The player is well liked by Napoli coach Antonio Conte and, seeing as his role at Roma is diminishing, could push to leave the capital club soon.
