Both kicker and Sky Germany report that 1.FC Köln striker Tim Lemperle will move to Hoffenheim in the summer at the latest.
It has widely been known that Lemperle will not extend his contract in the Domstadt and will leave in the summer. It has now been revealed that he will join Hoffenheim when his deal expires.
However, there are talks ongoing about possibly moving the deal forward to this winter. It is unknown under which conditions promotion chasing Köln will let their main striker leave in the middle of the season. If an appropriate transfer fee can be agreed upon and Köln can find a replacement, then Lemperle can leave.
Hoffenheim striker Haris Tabakovic had been linked with a move to Köln but due to already playing for Hoffenheim and former club Hertha Berlin this season, he is ineligible. Sky Germany also reports that Die Kraichgauer are happy with him, despite the lack of starts.
If no agreement can be reached, then Lemperle’s failed move to Hoffenheim in the winter will also likely affect Jacob Bruun Larsen’s move to VfB Stuttgart. This is because Hoffenheim will then have to rely on new arrivals Gift Orban and Erencan Yardimci to help them avoid relegation.
