Jacob Bruun Larsen is set to leave Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim and join VfB Stuttgart. The Dane's contract in the Kraichgau was set to run until 30 June 2025.
"Fundamentally, Jacob is a player with great potential and extraordinary capabilities, and also possesses outstanding character on a human level," said Andreas Schicker, the managing director for sport at TSG. "But it's also a fact that Jacob's contract would have expired in the summer and VfB Stuttgart have now approached us with a lucrative offer. Jacob then also approached us and expressed his desire to move to Stuttgart. In the end, we agreed to the transfer after good discussions together. We wish Jacob all the best for the future."
Jacob Bruun Larsen joined TSG from Borussia Dortmund in January 2020 and has made a total of 76 competitive appearances for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Europa League in recent years (8 goals / 5 assists). In the 2020/2021 season, Bruun Larsen was loaned to tradition-steeped Belgian club RSC Anderlecht for the second half of the season (19 competitive appearances / 2 goals / 2 assists). This was followed by another loan to then English Premier League club Burnley in the 2023/2024 campaign (36 competitive appearances / 7 goals).
Since making his debut in March 2019, Bruun Larsen has made seven international appearances for the Denmark national team (1 goal) and was also part of the Scandinavian nation's squad for EURO 2024 in Germany. The 26-year-old attacking player had previously progressed through all the youth teams of the Danish Football Association.
