A trio of Premier League giants including Manchester City are ‘in the picture’ to sign RB Leipzig and Slovenian sensation, Benjamin Sesko according to reports.

The latest claims surrounding the Etihad Stadium club in particular come despite Pep Guardiola and his players being extremely happy with the fine form of Erling Haaland since he joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

The Norway international has consistently broken goalscoring records throughout his time with the club so far, and has started the ongoing campaign in similar form with 11 goals across all competitions, and 10 in the Premier League after just six matches.

However, there has always remained a lingering doubt over whether Erling Haaland could replicate the likes of Sergio Aguero and David Silva by becoming the next football superstar to remain at the club for beyond a nine-year stay despite advances from the likes of Real Madrid.

The latest reports would appear to suggest that Manchester City are bracing themselves for the worst possible outcome concerning the 24-year-old, as they eye up the other emerging striking talents from across Europe.

According to the information of Bild journalist Sten Hornig, speaking during an interview with Tutto Juve on the chances of seeing Benjamin Sesko starring in Serie A in future, it is pointed out that a number of Premier League clubs are instead vying for the player’s signature.

“Given his age and still extremely high development potential, (Benjamin) Šeško would probably help almost every team in Europe. However, I doubt that his path will take him to Italy next summer,” Hornig said, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness.

Hornig continued, “In addition to the market value of over €75 million, which is probably difficult to reach for an Italian club, the biggest difficulties will come from Premier League clubs that want to get serious next summer.

“I’m referring to Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal, who are among the teams that continue to monitor him the most.”

Manchester United and Arsenal have a clear need for a new striker in their armoury, as they currently utilise either players out of position or sub-par options recruited in recent markets due to a lack of top-level options.

For Manchester City, they recently sold their back-up option in Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid in an initial €75 million deal that represented a mammoth profit on the £15 million investment they made in the Argentina international from River Plate in 2022.

City rejected the opportunity to fill the void left by Alvarez in the summer, despite links to Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi and now-Real Sociedad forward Orri Óskarsson, following his performances at FC Copenhagen.
