Barcelona’s attacking setup has seen a remarkable contribution quite particularly from Raphinha and Lamine Yamal in terms of assists this season.

The duo has consistently been a key source of creativity, delivering crucial final passes that have directly influenced results.

Their impact was once again evident in the thrilling Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg clash against Atletico Madrid, which ended in a dramatic 4-4 draw.

The lethal duo

Raphinha played a crucial role in that match, setting up Pau Cubarsi’s equaliser to make it 2-2 before providing another assist for Inigo Martinez to put Barcelona ahead at 3-2.

Meanwhile, Yamal continued his impressive run of playmaking by supplying a well-placed pass to Robert Lewandowski, which allowed the Polish striker to score and give Barcelona a temporary 4-2 lead.

Both players have emerged as the most productive assist providers in La Liga this season, comfortably outshining their competitors. Raphinha has accumulated a total of 16 assists across all competitions, while Yamal is close behind with 15.

Together, they have set up 31 goals, a figure that no other duo in Spanish football comes close to matching.

To put this into perspective, Real Madrid’s highly-rated pairing of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. have managed just 19 assists between them—12 fewer than the Barcelona duo.

Raphinha leading the charge

Raphinha’s assists have been evenly spread across multiple competitions. He has provided seven in La Liga, four in the Champions League, four in the Copa del Rey, and one in the Spanish Super Cup.

Yamal, on the other hand, has been most effective in La Liga, where he leads the assist charts with 11.

He has also contributed three in the Copa del Rey and five in the Champions League, with the only competition where he did not register an assist being the Spanish Super Cup.

Their consistent performances have been instrumental in Barcelona’s attacking success this season, making them one of the most dangerous creative partnerships and assist kings in Spanish football.
