Barcelona legend Gerard Piqué rates Hansi Flick’s start with the club on a scale of 1 – 10 | OneFootball

Former Barcelona star Gerard Piqué has this week provided his take on the start to life enjoyed by Hansi Flick on the club’s bench.

Tactician Flick, for his part, of course enjoyed nothing short of a wonderful opening to the campaign in Spain.

After being appointed as Xavi’s replacement in Catalunya’s capital, the German wasted little time in making his mark, turning Barcelona into an all-action goalscoring machine.

As much culminated in the Blaugrana opening a clear-cut early advantage atop the La Liga table.

Recent weeks have seen such excellence diminish in frankly concerning fashion, but the evidence remains that, when firing on all cylinders, this Barcelona side is a match for just about anyone.

And one individual evidently of the opinion that Hansi Flick deserves great credit for as much is the aforementioned Gerard Piqué.

Speaking during a press conference for the Kings League World Cup, Barca legend Piqué was asked about Flick’s time in charge to date.

And, in quotes gathered by Diario Sport, the ex-defender was full of praise for the German and his side:

“They started the season very well. I think it was even too good and much better than expected. They have an extremely young team and a lot of very talented guys who, in my opinion, are the future of the club and even the future of football in general.

“On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give Hansi Flick an 8.5 for his work so far this season.”
