Canada, Costa Rica qualify to U-17 Women’s World Cup

MIAMI – The Final Round of the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers concluded on Sunday with the decisive third set of matches in Group B.
Canada sealed its place as winner of Group B, and the accompanying berth to the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2025. Additionally, Costa Rica, who finished second in Group A, secured a World Cup berth as the best second-place finisher in the Final Round.
Canada 3, Puerto Rico 2
Canada earned a 3-2 win against Puerto Rico at Estadio Nacional in Managua, Nicaragua in the first match of the day.
Giselle Falcón gave Puerto Rico the lead in the 45’ through a finish to the near post from inside the penalty area.
Canada equalized through Joelle Bader in the 45+5’, who scored with a left footed hit from outside the box.
Falcón secured her brace in the 57’ to restore the lead for Puerto Rico with a right footed long-range strike.
Canada tied the proceedings again in the 71’, with Olivia Chisholm finding the back of the net with a finish from outside the box.
Kaylee Hunter secured the comeback and the victory for The Reds in the 74’, capitalizing on a delivery over the defense with a finish to the near post.
The victory gave Canada the top spot in Group B. As group winners, Canada qualifies to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2025.
Panama 2, Nicaragua 0
Panama defeated Nicaragua 2-nil at Estadio Nacional in Managua, Nicaragua as the Final Round reached its conclusion.
Alison Onodera opened the scoring in the 3’ to help Panama to an early lead.
Shaday Mow scored the second for Las Canaleras in the 71’, tucking the ball away with a finish from the center of the box.
