Around 100 lucky fans were the first to see next season’s PUMA Home kit in a special event at Clayton Social Club in Manchester on Monday evening.
The new strip will be released globally at 08:00 (UK) on Tuesday 13 May on mancity.com and our official app.
The launch video was filmed at the social club – just a mile from the Etihad Stadium - where the Clayton Official Supporters Club branch regularly meet before and after games to share stories about following City.
Incorporating dozens of historic artefacts from our 131-year existence as Manchester City and several players past and present, the video plays on a traditional evening’s entertainment provided at a typical northern social club.
Ahead of the international release, members of several local Supporters Club branches were invited back to the scene to see the kit and hear from those involved in bringing the concept to life.
The event was compered by stadium matchday presenter Danny Jackson.
Speaking to Jackson on stage, Clayton Social Club's Treasurer Grahame Birtles said: "It was absolutely amazing to have City filming here. I got an email on the 19 January asking about the Club and I thought it was a scam!
"They transformed the Club for a two-day shoot in February and it was wonderful to see the effort City put into the whole thing.
"Manchester City have kept this Club, which is now 135 years old, open with the matchday trade so it’s very important to us and we’re delighted they continue to support us."
Serena Gosling, City’s Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail & Licensing, also took to the stage with Birtles and Jackson.
“We’re very proud of this kit and excited to see the response it gets," she began.
“This is the most ambitious film we’ve done to publicise a new shirt too.
"We had current players from the men’s and women’s team involved as well as some of the legends of the past.
“But the big driver was to bring the spirit of the north west and social clubs to the rest of the world.
“City was founded in east Manchester so we wanted to go back to that community. Hopefully this is something that people can relate to wherever they are.
“We used our amazing archive to build on that authentic feel, with items from Maine Road and all of City’s history dotted throughout the video.”
That sentiment was echoed by film director Glenn Kitson, who said: "It’s great to be working with City again. It's always a pleasure.
"I feel they fully understand the need to represent Manchester beyond the usual cliches.
"The club ethos is community led and not flashy. It always helps when you’re working with great creative - with the team at PUMA Creative, it feels genuinely integrated."
The men’s first team will wear the new Home kit at this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup, taking place in the USA ahead of the 2025/26 domestic season.
