During the winter transfer window, Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United was at the center of transfer rumors, with speculation about a potential move. Despite the interest, the young forward remained at Old Trafford, and behind the scenes, there were some revealing details about how a potential sale might have played out.
According to The Daily Mail, Garnacho was no longer seen as “untouchable” at United, with several top European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, keeping a close eye on his situation as the window progressed.
While a transfer wasn’t expected right away, United was reportedly open to offers of around £70 million. However, that price tag may have been too high for clubs like Atlético Madrid and Juventus.
Journalist Steve Kay also shared that Tottenham had made serious inquiries about Garnacho, with CaughtOffside noting continued interest from Atlético, PSG, and Juventus. United might have considered selling if the right offer came in.

Despite not selling Garnacho during the winter window, The Guardian reports that Manchester United are still open to selling Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo in the summer.
Manchester Evening News reported this week that it would have been difficult for the Red Devils to spin Garnacho’s possible departure in a positive light, considering he’s one of their most promising academy graduates in recent years.
