The fourth Clasico of the season was as entertaining, if not more entertaining than the three preceding Clasicos as Barcelona and Real Madrid tussled hard for three valuable points in La Liga.

The men in white made an inspired start to the game after Kylian Mbappe scored an early brace to put his side two goals up.

Barcelona, however, then awakened from the Champions League hangover and began taking matters into their own control.

Goals from Eric Garcia and Lamine Yamal put the Blaugrana back on level terms by the 32-minute mark before Raphinga netted a brace to make it 4-2 in Barcelona’s favour.

Real Madrid pulled one back after the break and began putting pressure once more on Barcelona just when it looked like Hansi Flick’s men were getting comfortable. The period that followed was fascinating with both sides creating chances.

Barça Universal brings you the player ratings from Barcelona 4-3 Real Madrid.

Wojciech Szczesny: 6

The Polish goalkeeper made an early error in judgement to aid in conceding an early penalty and thus helped Los Blancos go up.

He did not make any significant saves in the first period from that point and was almost regularly beaten including on offside attempts.

Gerard Martin: 7.5

The youngster continued his good run of form despite the heartbreak in Milan and looked like one of Barcelona’s more comfortable players in the first half.

He was comfortable on the ball, did not make too many mistakes defensively and regularly moved forward to add bodies in attack.

Inigo Martinez: 7

The veteran was booked early on the night but was close to flawless defensively. He did indeed struggle partially to keep up with Mbappe’s pace, but his footballing IQ ensured he stayed on top more often than not by maintaining the offside trap.

Pau Cubarsi: 6.5

The youngster was directly responsible for conceding the first penalty to Real Madrid as he could not clear the ball in time but looked comfortable from that point in.

Failed to intercept the cross to Mbappe for the team’s second goal.

Eric Garcia: 7.5

Eric has filled in brilliantly for Jules Kounde in the latter’s absence and was once again comfortable in his position at right-back. Combined well with Lamine Yamal in attack but was challenged seriously on the flank defensively.

Scored the team’s opener with a gem of a header and thus set the team up for the comeback that followed.

Pedri: 8.5

The Canary Islander’s recovery was the key that unlocked Real Madrid’s defence for Raphinha’s first goal on the night.

Was in complete control and ensured that Barcelona dominated through the middle against Real Madrid’s four-man midfield.

Frenkie de Jong: 8

The Dutchman enjoyed a strong performance manning Barcelona’s double pivot but did not hold back in pushing to the final third.

Played a crucial role in creating Lamine Yamal’s equaliser on the night with a smart playmaking move.

Dani Olmo: 6.5

Olmo, once again, was far from his best but still managed to help Barcelona wriggle through the midfield at times.

He did show moments of brilliance but did not quite get into the game as much as Flick would have hoped.

Lamine Yamal: 8.5

The youngster tormented Fran Garcia down Barcelona’s right flank, albeit not to the extent that one expected in the opening minutes.

He did, however, begin his magic after his goal to level the scores which was a beauty to behold in itself.

Raphinha: 9

The vintage Champions League Raphinha turned up for the Clasico in La Liga and Real Madrid simply had no answers to stop the Brazilian forward.

He scored with a vicious strike to beat Thibaut Courtois to score Barcelona’s third goal on the night and then went on to create and score the team’s fourth goal.

Ferran Torres: 9

The Spanish forward did not get on the scoresheet himself but was virtually involved in every Barcelona goal leading to the comeback.

Torres first did wonderfully to head the ball into Eric Garcia’s path for the opening goal and then went on to find Lamine Yamal to assist the equaliser.

Torres did not stop there and worked out a wonderful one-two sequence to tee up with Raphinha and assist the team’s fourth goal on the night.
