The personnel problems at Real Sociedad are beginning to mount ahead of the club’s upcoming La Liga meeting with Barcelona.
As much was confirmed by La Real boss Imanol on Saturday.
The Basques are primed to return to action tomorrow evening, when they make the daunting trip to Catalunya’s capital to face Barcelona.
As much comes amid a hectic fixture list for Sociedad at present, fresh off a Copa del Rey meeting with Real Madrid, and with a Europa League showdown with Manchester United to come on Thursday.
In turn, the latest word stemming from the camp in San Sebastian will no doubt come as a source of concern for the club’s supporters.
This comes amid confirmation that Real could be without as many as eight players to Barcelona on Sunday.
Already ruled out are all of Nayef Aguerd, Sheraldo Becker, Takefusa Kubo, Arsen Zakharyan, Jon Pacheco and Álvaro Odriozola, the former three owing to suspension, and the latter three injury.
And, speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Imanol admitted that he expects Luka Sučić and Mikel Oyarzabal to miss out, too:
“Oyarzabal ended up with discomfort in his hamstring (after facing Real Madrid). Given the sensations he has, I think he will not be able to play.”
Turning attentions towards midfielder Sučić, Imanol added:
“Yesterday the group had a day off but he came and the feeling is that the discomfort continues.”
