Che Adams inspired the Torino comeback from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 away to Udinese after Isak Touré and Lorenzo Lucca goals, while Alexis Sanchez made his return.

These teams were both hovering mid-table, though the Friulani were boosted by their surprise win over Fiorentina. Thomas Kristensen, Maduka Okoye, Oier Zarraga, Keinan Davis and Gerard Deulofeu were still out of action, but Jaka Bijol and Martin Payero returned. Coach Kosta Runjaic was also struggling with flu symptoms. Toro missed Sebastian Walukiewicz, Duvan Zapata, Perr Schuurs, Zanos Savva and Emirhan Ilkhan.

Yann Karamoh forced the goalkeeper to flap at a cross-shot, then drilled inches wide of the near post, while Florian Thauvin had his effort charged down by Borna Sosa.

Udinese broke the deadlock just before half-time when Thauvin’s corner kick was flicked on by Bijol for Isak Tourè to extend a long leg and poke home from six yards. It was the first Serie A goal for the tallest outfield player in the league, standing at 2.06 metres.

Sava got down to fingertip a ferocious Samuele Ricci daisy-cutter round the base of the near post, then after the restart Maripan bravely threw himself in the path of Thauvin’s finish from eight yards.

However, Udinese scored from the resulting corner, Lorenzo Lucca steering the header in from six yards on Thauvin’s assist. The former Torino youth product was left relatively unmarked.

Toro got back into it from a corner situation too, albeit a chaotic one when teammates Kingsley Ehizibue and Christian Kabasele collided, as Sava managed to parry the first Che Adams strike at the back post, but not the second.

The Granata completed the comeback just 10 minutes later, as a Valentin Lazaro cross was not cleared properly by Ehizibue, allowing Adams to hold off his defender and knock it back for Ricci’s low drive into the bottom corner from 12 yards.

There were emotional scenes as Alexis Sanchez made his return in the Udinese jersey for the first time since May 2011.
