Antoine Griezmann surpasses impressive Atlético Madrid milestone following clash against Real Madrid | OneFootball

It’s only been two days since Atlético Madrid took on their city rival Real Madrid at the Bernabéu, but now the dust has settled on that 1-1 draw, we can take the time to recognise one of the lesser talked-about stories from the clash.

As shared on the club’s socials, Atlético’s star forward Antoine Griezmann has now surpassed 300 league matches in the red and white shirt of Atlético Madrid.

Griezmann has now played over 550 matches in La Liga across his entire career, although this figure also includes his stints at Real Sociedad and Barcelona.

At the age of 33, Griezmann now has just one year left on his Atlético Madrid contract, meaning his time in the Spanish capital will soon come to an end.

The question now is whether the Frenchman will see out his time at the club or whether he will make the switch for one last payday in the MLS.

Regardless of where Griezmann ends up, it will be sad to see the day that one of Spanish football’s most seasoned players leaves the league for good.
