Barcelona held summit with Bayern Munich star’s agent | OneFootball

The transfer team at La Liga giants Barcelona held a meeting with the entourage of Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies earlier this year.

That’s according to Jijantes, who have on Friday provided an insight into the ongoing speculation linking Davies with a move to Catalunya’s capital.

The name of defender Davies has of course positioned itself front and centre in the media chatter in Barcelona over the course of recent days.

This comes amid fresh reports that the Blaugrana brass are keeping a close eye on the contract situation of the Canadian international.

Davies is due to see his terms in Munich expire next summer, looking increasingly likely to move on as a free agent as a result.

Real Madrid have long stood as the favourites for his signature, but arch rivals Barcelona, too, are considered as in the race, viewing the left-back as a market opportunity too good to pass up on.

And the interest on the part of the Catalans, it would appear, is not at all new.

In fact, as per the aforementioned Jijantes:

‘Nedal Househ, the player’s representative, met with Deco on February 15 in Barcelona.’

This summit came with a view to gathering information on the financial figures likely to be involved in drawing up a pre-contract agreement between the parties.
