A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will play no part against Atalanta next week.
That’s according to the reliable RAC1, who point towards Dani Olmo as the player in question.
Spanish international Olmo, for his part, was of course condemned to a fresh spell on the sidelines earlier this week.
As much came after his appearance off the bench in Barcelona’s 1-1 stalemate with Getafe was followed by an announcement that the summer arrival in Catalunya’s capital had suffered a ‘right soleus strain’.
Olmo, in turn, was ruled out against both Benfica and Valencia.
The hope, initially, had been that the 26-year-old could mark his return in the Blaugrana’s upcoming Champions League clash with Atalanta.
As alluded to above, though, in a blow for Hansi Flick and co, this will not be the case.
As per a report from RAC1:
‘Dani Olmo has been ruled out of playing against Atalanta. The goal is Alavés or Valencia (Copa).
