Bologna have serious injury problems ahead of their big matches against Genoa, Aston Villa and Milan, losing four players in a single day.

The Rossoblu are already being stretched far beyond their usual capabilities this season, having failed to qualify for European football for decades, yet now finding themselves in the Champions League.

So far they have managed only one victory, 2-1 away to Monza on September 22, along with six draws and two defeats.

Coach Vincenzo Italiano revealed in his press conference today that he is forced to do without four players against Genoa.

Martin Erlic will be out for a month after a Grade I lesion to the femoral bicep in his left leg, while Michal Aebischer requires more evaluation next week due to tendinitis in his left adductor.

Samuel Iling-Junior strained the collateral medial ligament in his left knee and it remains to be seen how quickly he will recover.

Dan Ndoye only has a slight muscular issue, but is not making the trip to Genoa for Saturday’s Serie A match.

Italiano also warned that Jhon Lucumi is not at 100 per cent and might not start tomorrow.

This is not taking into account the long-term absentees for Bologna, like Nicolò Cambiaghi and Lewis Ferguson, who underwent knee ligament surgery.
