Marcus Thuram feels that Inter Milan put in a great performance against “the best team in the world” in the form of Barcelona.
The 27-year-old spoke to Amazon Prime, via FCInterNews, after yesterday’s 3-3 Champions League semfiinal first leg draw.
Inter Milan faced Barcelona in the first leg of a Champions League semfinal tie yesterday.
The Nerazzurri secured an invaluable draw. But it was certainly not a tense or cagey affair.
Inter found the back of the net three times. And they also had the ball in the back of the net a fourth – courtesy of midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan. However, he was offside very marginally.
Yesterday’s result was all the more significant for Inter considering the quality of the team that they were up against.

Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram gave his thoughts on yesterday’s match. He called it “an open match.”
“We played great,” the Frenchman went on. “Against the best team in the world at the moment”
Thuram went on that “There’s still the match to play at the San Siro.”
“Everything is still open,” the former Borussia Monchengladbach striker declared.
Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram also spoke about what his coach Simone Inzaghi told him as he was coming back from a muscle injury.
“He spoke to me like a great coach,” the Frenchman said. “And as a former player.”
“These are things that remain between us,” he went on.
Thuram then noted that “no player is 100% at this point in the season.”
“But these matches have to be played. Because we have to give everything for the shirt.”
