Injury update provided on Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday provided an update on the wellbeing of star frontman Vinícius Jr.

This of course comes after the Brazilian international was forced into a premature departure from the club’s meeting with Villarreal late last night.

En route to an eventual 2-0 triumph for Los Blancos, Vinícius was hauled off a little over ten minutes from time.

The 24-year-old, in turn, was put through a round of medical scans and tests early on Sunday morning.

And the results of as much have since been revealed by way of an announcement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms:

‘Following tests carried out on Vinicius Júnior, the player has been diagnosed with a cervical injury. His progress will be monitored.’

Vinícius’ setback adds to that of Dani Carvajal, who, after also departing Saturday’s action at the Santiago Bernabéu prematurely, has since been ruled out for what is expected to be the remainder of the campaign with a serious knee injury.
