Matteo Cocchi says it’s “indescribable” to debut for Inter Milan in the Champions League, and Federico Dimarco is the “best wingback in the world.”
The 19-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after yesterday’s Champions League win over Feyenoord.
Wingback Matteo Cocchi came off the bench for Inter Milan against Feyenoord yesterday.
The 18-year-old replaced Francesco Acerbi in midfield in the 84th minute.
It was just a ten-minute runout for Cocchi. And it came in a match that Inter had already very much wrapped up.
However, the experience was still very much important for the teenager.
Inter Milan’s Under-19 or Primavera team are also currently doing exceptionally well in the UEFA Youth League.
Therefore, appearances like yesterday’s only further bolster the confidence of young players like Cocchi and his teammate Thomas Berenbruch.
Cocchi called coming off the bench in yesterday’s match “an indescribable feeling.”
“Every child dreams of a moment like this,” he said.

“I’m very happy that I was able to make this dream a reality.”
And Cocchi also spoke about the player who gives him the most inspiration. “I don’t have to look far,” he said.
“Right here at Inter, we have Dimarco. I think he’s the best in the world at the moment.”
Cocchi added that “I take inspiration from him, and I try to take his best qualities.”
And of his Champions League debut at such a young age, Cocchi said “this is just the beginning.”
“Playing ten minutes in the Champions League is indescribable,” the teenage wingback went on. “But there’s always room for improvement.”
“And we’ll keep doing so every day.”
