Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck spoke of his pride at earning a first call up to the Germany national team, after being selected for UEFA Nations League fixtures against Italy.

The 24-year-old has represented Germany at youth level and was a regular in the U21 set-up, but after being included in the senior squad for the first time he spoke of his determination to earn his spot in an interview with German outlet DW, and as reported by FCInterNews.it.

“It’s a great honour for me to be here,” Bisseck declared of his call-up by coach Julian Nagelsmann,

“The guys are all super nice. I’m just happy to be here.”

“It wasn’t an easy path but I’m happy that I made it and that I didn’t give up, continuing to work on myself.

“There were a lot of backward steps, but I can say that all of this has made me the player and the man I am today.”

Bisseck was not included in the matchday squad for Germany’s 2-1 victory over Italy in the first leg of their Nations League semi-final, but is hopeful of being involved and being handed a debut as the Mannschaft welcome the Azzurri to Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park today.

The former Koln defender, who joined Inter from Danish outfit AGF in 2023, has gone on to make 51 appearances for the Nerazzurri in all competitions, scoring three goals.
