Jonathan David’s future has been a hot topic in Europe as we approach the final phase of the campaign.

The Canadian international’s contract at Lille expires at the end of the season, with the forward all set to leave the club on a free transfer.

David’s status as a potential free agent in the summer has put a number of clubs on red alert. Even Barcelona were interested in the forward earlier in the campaign.

Inter Milan eyeing move for David

According to Mundo Deportivo, Inter Milan have emerged as a potential target for Jonathan David.

The Italian giants are increasingly keen on getting their hands on the Canadian international as they look to shore up their offensive unit heading into the new season.

The report adds that Inter Milan officials even met with David’s representatives a few days ago to present an offer for five seasons with a salary of €10 million plus add-ons.

However, there is no agreement at the moment. David, for his part, is reportedly keen on joining Barcelona and has made his intentions quite clear.

Barcelona, though, are not too keen on acquiring the services of Jonathan David at the moment.

Although there is much concern around Barça regarding finding a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, Hansi Flick has full faith in the Pole to continue leading the Barça frontline for yet another campaign.

In fact, Flick has asked the Barcelona board to sign a new striker in the summer of 2026. Jonathan David, therefore, is not an immediate option for Barça.

As for Inter Milan, the club have performed considerably well under Simone Inzaghi and could be poised for a berth in the UCL semis this season.

Acquiring the services of David, to that end, could go a long way in further reinforcing their ranks in attack going into the 2025/26 campaign.
