Lewandowski beware: La Liga top scorer standings after Kylian Mbappé’s hat-trick vs Valladolid | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé on Saturday continued to close the gap on Barcelona counterpart Robert Lewandowski atop the La Liga top-scorer standings.

This comes owing to his exploits in Real Madrid’s meeting with Real Valladolid.

Los Blancos are of course fresh off making it a trio of successive victories across all competitions.

After making the trip to the Estadio José Zorrilla for a La Liga meeting with the aforementioned Valladolid, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops ultimately emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result.

And it was frontman Mbappé who proved himself the star of the show.

Amid a superb recent stretch of form, the Frenchman was in scintillating form once more on Saturday, on his way to a first-ever hat-trick in the colours of Real Madrid.

And, owing to as much, Mbappé has again closed the gap on Robert Lewandowski in the race for the Pichichi.

Whilst Barcelona standout Lewandowski remains top of the pile with 16 goals to his name, Mbappé now sits just one behind, on 15.
