Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi has revealed that his centre-forward, Marcus Thuram (27) has been suffering from an ankle issue for the past month. It is an issue that could see him miss out on the upcoming France squad, according to AFP.
Thuram is a regular in Didier Deschamps’ squads, however, the Inter Milan forward may be given some time off. Inzaghi revealed on Monday that the Frenchman has been suffering from an ankle injury for the past month, which has prevented him from training normally. As a result, he could start the UEFA Champions League second leg against Feyenoord from the bench.
Thuram has been having injections and anti-pain medication to help him with the issue. Whilst it has allowed him to play for the Serie A side in recent weeks, a period of rest may be beneficial. He may get that during the upcoming international break. Deschamps could opt to rest the No.9 and not select him for Les Bleus’ upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia (20th March and 23rd March). Deschamps announces his squad on Thursday.
