Nantes have signed Young Boys winger Meschack Elia (27) on loan with an option to buy, both clubs have announced. BSC Young Boys have also revealed that Elia’s contract contract has been extended until December 2026.  Elia will be loaned out to Les Canaris for the remainder of the 2024-2025 campaign. Nantes and Young Boys reportedly agreed to a loan deal with a €3m option to make Elia’s move to La Beaujoire permanent.

Elia has played for Young Boys since 2020, making 200 appearances and logging 43 goals and 41 assists for the Swiss Super League outfit. The winger has represented DR Congo 46 times, scoring on 9 occasions for the Leopards. “I would like to thank everyone at YB, especially with my teammates, the coaching staff, the sporting management, all employees and of course the fans who always supported me very much”, Elia said. Elia could make his Nantes debut this Friday when Les Canaris host Brest at La Beaujoire.
