Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu will report to the federal prosecutor’s office in Milan later this week after it was confirmed that he had had conversations with Marco Ferdico, one of the ultras arrested as part of a high-scale operation at the end of September.
Calhanoglu is not formally under investigation, but will give his version of events to the prosecutors to assist with their inquest.
The Nerazurri midfielder and his family reportedly sat down for dinner with Ferdico and, like coach Simone Inzaghi, had conversations relating to the allocation of extra tickets for the 2023 Champions League final against Manchester City.
Calhanoglu is currently away on international duty with Turkey, but will play against Iceland on Monday evening, before returning to Milano on Tuesday. He will then speak to the prosecutors on either Wednesday or Thursday, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 30-year-old will be the third Inter delegate to speak to the prosecutors after the ultras’ arrests, following coach Inzaghi and vice-President Javier Zanetti. None of them are formally under investigation.
