Carlos Soler, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, seems to have settled in well at West Ham United, creating a dilemma for the club moving forward. Despite a midseason managerial change, the Spaniard is thriving under Graham Potter.

Eager for regular playing time, Soler sought a fresh start last summer. With multiple clubs interested, West Ham secured his loan deal on deadline day.

According to Claret and Hugh in October, the move is a straight loan with no purchase option. A senior club official confirmed, “Soler is just here on loan with absolutely no obligation for us to buy.”

Given his high wages and the substantial fee PSG would likely demand, any permanent deal exceeding £1 million would require board approval, making a transfer unlikely. However, with Soler impressing, West Ham may reconsider their stance.

Early last month, West Ham appointed Potter as manager, taking over for Julen Lopetegui. Even though Potter didn’t bring in Soler, in an interview with the Daily Mail, the PSG loanee noted adapting to the Premier League and getting off on the right foot with his new manager.

“It was not easy because you have to change a lot of things, not just in football but in life that people don’t know,’ Soler told the English media outlet. “It’s normal because fans just know about the matches but there are so many things more than football.

“I knew that I had to adapt my game to the Premier League. There is more intensity, crazy matches. The second half was like that against Villa. It was one side, another side, one side, another side.

“I had to fit in with the idea of the coach. I started to play but then Julen was sacked. I looked at that as an opportunity with the new coach. I saw that Graham had confidence in me. He likes the style of football that I play. That’s very important for a player.”

The Spanish outlet AS recently reported that confidence is growing in Carlos Soler making his move to West Ham permanent. Initially, there were concerns that his high wages would make a deal difficult for the Hammers to pull off.

Meanwhile, Fichajes previously reported that PSG are seeking around €20 million for Soler, and it remains to be seen whether they can secure that fee in the summer.
