Once adored by the AC Milan fans, Gianluigi Donnarumma’s (26) relationship with the Rossoneri faithful could deteriorate yet further.
Donnarumma left his boyhood club to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer back in 2021. Once one of the great goalkeeping prospects in world football, he has not always lived up to the billing, especially in the UEFA Champions League, where he has made some high-profile errors.
However, he was the hero as PSG knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League on penalties earlier this month. That decisive performance came amid talks over a renewal at PSG. The Italian goalkeeper’s deal with Les Parisiens expires at the end of next season.
Speaking to L’Équipe, the Italian’s agent, Enzo Raiola, made it clear that the priority is to extend at PSG. “It is the only club where Donnarumma wants to sign,” said Raiola. However, it is perhaps unclear whether that desire is reciprocal with PSG frequently linked with a move for Lille OSC’s Lucas Chevalier. He would only join if he were to be first-choice.
Within this context, Corriere della Sera have reported that Donnarumma would be open to a move to Inter Milan. The former AC Milan goalkeeper is keen for a move back to Italy and would not be closed to the idea of representing his former rivals. At Internazionale, he would link back up with Gianluca Spinelli, the coach with whom he burst through at AC Milan.
