Picking Barcelona’s best player from the current campaign is easier said than done with many individuals including Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde and Pedri standing out in their own ways.
The Spanish midfielder, however, has been on a level of his own like Yamal and is now making a strong case to be called the best in the world in his position.
While his numbers are indeed great, the beauty of Pedri’s football can only be seen in the form of his technical quality and maturity on the field which make him one of the safest players on the ball in the world.
Several pundits and players have unsurprisingly come out to openly call him the best in recent weeks.
Speaking to the media in a recent interview, Chelsea midfielder and Real Madrid target Enzo Fernandez was asked who his favourite player in the world was who played in the same position as him.

Without batting an eyelid, the midfielder almost instinctively named the Barcelona maestro, calling him the best midfielder in world football.
“The best in the world in my position? As of today, Pedri, I like him a lot,” he said, via Mundo Deportivo.
The hype around Pedri has been progressively built over the years but is completely organic and deserved. After all, the maturity and skill he shows at just 22 years of age is phenomenal.
After a string of injuries in recent years, the current season came as a much-needed term of continuity for the Canary Islander who has now shown the world what he is capable of.
A large part of the credit, needless to say, also goes to Hansi Flick for finding Pedri’s optimal position on the field as part of the double pivot.
The Spanish international is now almost synonymous with the position, but it would have raised several eyebrows to even discuss that possibility a year ago.
