Due to the FA Cup and the international break, the Premier League hasn’t been as busy as is usually the case.

United played just two Premier League matches in March—a 1-1 draw against Arsenal and a 3-1 win over Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

The Red Devils took the lead against Arsenal courtesy of a superb free-kick effort from Fernandes. Declan Rice equalised in the second half, but United created a flurry of opportunities and were unlucky not to clinch all three points.

The performance vs. the Foxes was also impressive, with United dominating large spells of the match.

Fernandes set up goals for both Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho before capping off his performance with a powerful finish of his own.

This means that the Portugal international was had a role to play in all four goals that United scored in March.

To secure the Premier League Player of the Month award, Fernandes will have to ward off competition from Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest), Rice (Arsenal), Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest), Jean-Ricner Bellegarde (Wolverhampton Wanderers) and Jan Paul van Hecke (Brighton & Hove Albion).

Meanwhile, Amorim is up against Fabian Huzeler and Nuno Espirito Santo of Brighton and Forest, respectively.

United are back in action on Tuesday, April 1, when they go away to the City Ground to face Forest.

The 20-time English champions currently lie in 13th place, with just 37 points gained after playing 29 matches.
