The Magpies captain has been a strong supporter of the charitable arm of the club since joining the club and is passionate about the organisation's community work engaging and inspiring more than 69,000 people across the North East every year.
Stobbs is the first woman to be a Player Ambassador for the Foundation and in her first official appearance in the role, she met with Newcastle United Foundation participants at a Premier League Kicks session for girls, joining skill-based drills and small-sided games with the next generation of female footballers.
Sharing her pride at becoming Player Ambassador, Stobbs said: "It's a massive honour for me to become an ambassador for Newcastle United Foundation - I don't think it has sunk in yet.
"I've always involved myself in the community before at other clubs, but to do it for the club you support in the city you love and always wanted to move to is amazing.
"The work this charity does is incredible so I will do whatever I can and everything I can to be the best ambassador for the Foundation - to be involved and give back to the community and roll my sleeves up.
"The stories of the people I've met through the Foundation are the inspiring people in this story - it's not me becoming an ambassador, it's the people who are doing the work or who are using the programmes."
Stobbs joins Dan Burn and Sean Longstaff as an official Player Ambassadors for Newcastle United Foundation with the group committed to championing the Foundation and playing a key role in promoting the work of the charity to inspire others to get involved or fundraise to continue to charity's work.
Steve Beharall, Newcastle United Foundation CEO, said: "We are beyond thrilled to welcome Amber-Keegan Stobbs as a Player Ambassador for Newcastle United Foundation.
"As Newcastle United Women captain, Amber is a figurehead not only on the pitch, but a real role model off the pitch and her support for our work is already creating a positive impact for participants.
"Amber is the perfect addition to our growing team of Player Ambassadors who share a real passion for community and are dedicated to promoting the Foundation across the North East."
The 32-year-old is well-versed in the Foundation's role in the community and has been involved in the charity since arriving on Tyneside, attending Newcastle United Foundation's Celebration Dinner.
At the charity's largest fundraising event of the year, Stobbs saw-first hand the inspirational achievements of North East community members connected by Newcastle United and the Foundation's work. Meeting with participants engaged in education, employability and sport and wellbeing programmes with the charity, Stobbs was inspired by award winners on the night.
She said: "I went to the Foundation annual dinner last year and the year before, and it's just that mind-blowing thing, hearing the stories and hearing the journeys of the individuals who have used the Foundation for their services or programmes.
"Meeting those people first-hand and watching the videos and stories as they're going up to get their awards was a tearjerker, and it’s like, wow - you realise how important the Foundation is for the community."
And this season, Stobbs has proudly backed the Foundation’s sport and wellbeing work, joining fellow Player Ambassador Dan Burn on World Mental Health Day. Together, the pair met with Newcastle United Foundation Health and Wellbeing Project Officer Joe Rogers to discuss mental wellness.
Speaking freely to inspire others to start a conversation about mental health, the 32-year-old shared personal tips and advice, encouraging supporters to take positive actions to improve their wellbeing.
As Player Ambassador, Stobbs spent time answering questions from participants at a Girls' Premier League Kicks session, sharing her career highlights, insight into being a captain and advice for young players looking forward to a future in professional football.
And at her first appearance as ambassador, Stobbs learnt more about the Foundation's 19 free Premier League Kicks sessions delivered across the North East, with more than 2,000 children and teenagers attending the programme since the start of the academic year.
Girls' Premier League Kicks sessions aim to provide an inclusive space for young women and girls to practice, play and socialise together through football. Premier League Kicks, funded by the Premier League through the Premier League Charitable Fund, uses the power of football and sport to inspire young people to reach their potential, in some of the most high-need areas in England and Wales.
