Sevilla’s Loïc Badé has been making waves with his impressive performances, particularly after standing out for France at the Summer Olympics.

With Milan Skriniar now at Fenerbahçe SK, Paris Saint-Germain could be in the market for a new center-back, whether it be in January or in the summer.

Badé’s rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. French national team coach Didier Deschamps included him in the squad for the October international break, a clear sign of his growing stature.

Several top clubs are reportedly monitoring the defender. A previous report from SPORT revealed that Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and PSG showed interest in Badé last fall.

Spanish outlet Diario AS has added Liverpool to the mix, reporting that the Premier League club sees him as a potential successor to Virgil van Dijk. Scouts from Liverpool were even spotted during Sevilla’s match against Barcelona at Montjuïc in October.

CaughtOffside recently reported that Aston Villa, following the sale of Diego Carlos to Fenerbahçe, was targeting a central defender ahead of the January transfer deadline, identifying Badé as a potential option.

The La Liga club has set a €60 million release clause for the player, while Villa’s initial offer stands at €21 million plus €4 million in add-ons.

However, Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – reported on Thursday, citing sources, that Aston Villa are ready to walk away from the deal.

Badé, who spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest during the 2022-23 season, has decided against a return to the Premier League despite negotiations reaching an advanced stage.

As a result, Aston Villa will now turn their attention to other targets, with the central defender opting to remain in Spain.
