Just when it appeared like FC Barcelona would coast through the international break without any injury concerns, it appears like Robert Lewandowski might have picked up a knock.

The 36-year-old Poland captain did not start their game against Croatia last night with manager Michal Probierz confirming that he had a minor injury.

Despite that, Lewandowski would come on as a substitute in the second half, only to be on the receiving end of a rash tackle from Croatia’s goalkeeper.

Following the game, the Barcelona superstar was spotted limping, causing concerns at the club.

Now, according to SPORT’s Sergi Capdevila, Robert Lewandowski’s availability for Sunday’s La Liga clash against Sevilla is in doubt.

As has already been reported, there is a strong chance that Barcelona will be resting Lamine Yamal against the Andalusian outfit as a precaution after he sustained a muscle overload while away with Spain.

Now, it appears like Hansi Flick might be without his most in-form forward for Sunday’s game as well.

While Lewandowski insisted after Poland’s game that he was fine, Barcelona will likely approach the situation with extreme caution, knowing that they are scheduled to play Bayern Munich and Real Madrid next week.

Lewandowski’s presence for those matches is extremely crucial and as such, if there are any minor concerns as well, he might be rested against Sevilla on Sunday.

It could open the door for someone like Pau Victor or Ansu Fati to get a rare start. A clearer picture should emerge on Thursday when the entire squad will reassemble for training.
