Bologna striker Santiago Castro feels that Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is “incredible.”

The 20-year-old spoke to Argentine broadcaster TyC Sports, via FCinterNews. He looked back on a message from Martinez congratulating on the move to Bologna, and also said he’s not thinking about transfer speculation.

20-year-old Bologna striker Castro is reportedly a target for Inter.

The Nerazzurri have been convinced by the young Argentine’s performances for the Rossoblu.

Castro joined Bologna last summer. And since the departure of Joshua Zirkzee in particular, he has become a regular starter.

Castro has been a talismanic figure for Bologna this season. He is the Emilian team’s top scorer in Serie A.

Moreover, Castro has also given Bologna far more than just goals. His overall performances leading the line have won him numerous admirers.

The way that Castro has given Bologna not just goals but a well-rounded presence up top has won comparisons to Inter captain Martinez. As has the pair’s shared nationality.

This has meant that it has not been much of a surprise to see links between Castro and Inter.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri want to focus on revitalizing the squad. They want younger signings who will lower the average age of the team rather than continuing to sign veteran players.

And at twenty years, Castro could very well prove to be the ideal replacement to players like Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa.

“He made himself available for anything I needed.”

Castro looked back, “It was a nice gesture.”

“And it helped me a lot to adapt.”

Meanwhile, Castro also admitted that Inter captain Martinez is something of a role model for him. “It’s incredible to watch Lautaro on the pitch,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Bologna striker brushed off the transfer rumours. “I try not to pay too much attention to the things people are saying,” he said.

“I have to concentrate on this club,” said Santiago Castro. “On all the details of the day-to-day.”

“I think that’s the best thing for me,” the Argentine insisted. “Because if I looked too far beyond that it wouldn’t do many any good, it would distract me.”

“Today I’m thinking about Bologna,” Castro said. “About Sunday’s match, and giving my all.”
