Raffaele Palladino feels that it was a “magical evening” for Fiorentina as they beat Inter Milan, but expects a very different match next time.
The Viola coach to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after his team managed a shock 3-0 victory against the reigning champions of Italy.
Fiorentina’s season has been full of ups and downs under Raffaele Palladino.
But one thing that the Tuscan side have certainly excelled at has been producing statement results when they’ve needed them most.
And none have been quite as emphatic as this evening’s demolition of Inter Milan.
Fiorentina went into the match missing a number of players through injury. And unable to register new signings for the makeup fixture for the postponed match, they were thin on the ground.
However, Palladino managed to make the best out of a bad situation.
La Viola were the hungrier, more organized side in both phases of play. They deservedly handed Inter their heaviest defeat of the season so far.
After the match, Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino called it “A perfect evening, a magical evening.”
“We were dealing with an injury crisis. Every day, I’ve lost a player. Yesterday Gudmundsson had a fever.”

“But when things get tough, you can see how strong the group is,” the Viola coach was defiant.
“Today we showed determination against a very strong team.”
“Everything was perfect,” Palladino beamed. “The guys were exemplary. Even the ones who were playing out of position.”
The Fiorentina coach called the result “a win that’s worthy of a great group.”
Meanwhile, Inter Milan and Fiorentina square off again very soon. They play their second league meeting in just a few days’ time, on Monday.
Viola coach Palladino stressed that “We shouldn’t get too excited.”
“We need to keep our feet on the ground. But it gives us an awareness of what we’re capable of.”
“Now we have to keep working,” said the Fiorentina coach. “Monday will be even more difficult.”
