Eddie Howe, what a brilliant manager.
Not only that, he is a great person and represents our football club in the very best way possible, whether Newcastle United win or lose.
Eddie Howe is still only 47 and yet has already taken a small club like Bournemouth from near certain dropping into non-league football, all the way through the divisions to the Premier League and established them there.
Then saved Newcastle United from what looked certain relegation, managing the club to being the third best in the second half of that 2021/22 season, only Liverpool and Man City picking up more points in the final 19 PL matches.
Then of course the first cup final in 24 years and first Champions League qualification in two decades.
Now delivering the first trophy in 56 years, first domestic one in 70 years, plus now on course for Champions League qualification again.
The thing that underpins everything with Eddie Howe is his total dedication to the job.
Danny Rose didn’t do much else for Newcastle United but he exposed the joke of what went before Eddie Howe, the then loan player saying he couldn’t believe the sheer number of days that Steve Bruce gave himself and the players off training.
On his first day at work, Eddie Howe and his staff were at the training ground in the early hours of the morning,, long before the players were due in.
Amazing isn’t it, the harder you work the luckier you get!
Anyway, Eddie Howe stunning Newcastle United fans after the Wembley triumph, revealing he will take a few days off!
“I am always about tomorrow but I’ll put the coaching books away for a few days.”
Well done (Sir) Eddie Howe, you deserve it!
Eddie Howe reflecting on that Wembley win to Sky Sports:
“We were well aware of the history and we wanted to do the club proud.
“We wanted to score, we wanted to perform and we wanted to win.
“We are breaking new ground.
“I thought we were magnificent.
“We worked consistently for two weeks on set-plays just for this game and if you had seen us in practice you would have said we had no chance.
“We couldn’t believe Dan Burn scored.
“He didn’t train like that!
“He was a colossus for us.
“I want to enjoy it first.
“I am always about tomorrow but I’ll put the coaching books away for a few days.
“Both teams were quite direct and we dealt with that really well.
“Nobody wanted to make a mistake, there wasn’t much pretty football played but we were effective in both boxes.
“We didn’t want to show our hand when we played them a few weeks ago, we still wanted to win that game, we just did it in a different way.”
