FC Barcelona capped off a sensational 2024/25 campaign by parading their La Liga title and domestic treble through the streets of Catalunya. Thousands of fans lined the roads to celebrate with their heroes, marking a triumphant return to the summit of Spanish football.

The Catalan club secured the title in some fashion, beating bitter rivals Espanyol 2-0 at the RCDE stadium. It would have been the cherry on what was already a wonderfully baked cake, and the head chef was undoubtedly Hansi Flick.

The German coach has come to Barcelona and completely transformed the atmosphere at the club. After a season of disappointment in the 2023/24 season, not many would have envisioned the kind of transformation seen this time around.

One player who was forced to miss the game against Espanyol was Ferran Torres, who had to undergo an emergency appendectomy surgery that was diagnosed on the eve of the game. It was a shame as the Spaniard had enjoyed a brilliant season.

Ferran had to remain in the hospital after surgery and was unable to join the team in their celebrations for the parade, but the Spaniard, as per Mundo Deportivo, made sure he followed everything from the hospital, posting a story where he was seen watching his teammates on TV.

Ferran Torres may have missed the celebrations, but his impact this season has been undeniable. With 26 goal contributions in 45 appearances, he’s proven to be one of Flick’s most valuable and versatile weapons, even without a guaranteed starting spot.

From “super-sub” to a vital attacking piece, Ferran seems to have finally found his rhythm under Flick’s guidance. While watching from a hospital bed might not have been how he imagined celebrating a title, his time to soak in the applause will come.

A hero’s welcome surely awaits his return—and if this season was a glimpse of what’s to come, the 25-year-old Shark might just be getting started.
