Inter Milan star Piotr Zielinski will return to the starting line-up in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League game against Young Boys.

According to Corriere dello Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, the Poland international will make his third European start for the Nerazzurri tomorrow.

Zielinski’s game time at Giuseppe Meazza has been relatively sparse this season.

Indeed, the 30-year-old has to register his first Serie A start for Inter since joining the club as a free agent in the summer.

That’s mainly due to his recurring fitness issues.

After struggling with a muscle injury in August, Zielinski suffered a thigh problem during October’s international break.

Therefore, he wasn’t part of Simone Inzaghi’s matchday squad for last weekend’s encounter against Roma.

However, the reigning Scudetto holders lost Hakan Calhanoglu to a thigh problem at the Stadio Olimpico.

As a result of the Turkish playmaker’s absence, Zielinski will return to the starting XI in Bern.

Zielinski will, in all likelihood, take Calhanoglu’s role against Young Boys.

With Kristjan Asllani injured, the Polish ace must step up to the plate.

He’ll likely team up with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nicolo Barella in the engine room.

In addition to Zielinski’s inclusion, Stefan de Vrij will likely regain his place at the heart of Inzaghi’s backline.

That’s because Francesco Acerbi is unavailable for selection.

Like Calhanoglu, the veteran center-picked sustained an injury in a 1-0 triumph against Roma.

Therefore, De Vrij will join forces with Alessandro Bastoni and Yann Bisseck against Young Boys.

Indeed, the latter should dislodge Benjamin Pavard from the starting XI.

Yann Sommer should keep his place between the sticks.

However, summer signing Josep Martinez is close to making his Serie A debut for Inter.

There’s reportedly a chance he could replace the Swiss ace in goal against Venezia at the start of November.
