Marcus Thuram is the latest Inter player to pull out of international duty, as he has withdrawn from Didier Deschamps’s France squad for the upcoming Nations League quarter-finals against Croatia.
The French federation have confirmed that Thuram, Inter’s leading goalscorer this season, will return to Milano for further assessments with club doctors.
The 27-year-old reported to Clairefontaine as usual for preparation work with France, but has been suffering with pain in his ankle, and after an assessment with national team doctor Franck Le Gall, he has been allowed to return to his domestic club.

That means he will not be involved in either leg of France’s upcoming Nations League quarter-final against Croatia later this week.
Thuram becomes the third Inter player to drop out of their national team squad this week. Nicola Zalewski was called up by Poland despite carrying an injury, and he has since returned to Milano. Denzel Dumfries has also left the Netherlands squad due to an unspecified injury.
