SV Werder Bremen were delighted after having ended a five-game losing run with a 2-0 win away at Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Read on for all the post-match reaction from Ole Werner and the team.
Ole Werner, head coach: "I'm delighted for the team. We haven't enjoyed much success in recent weeks and were able to show a reaction against Wolfsburg already, but weren't able to be rewarded for it then. Today, we got our reward and against the defending champions to boot. It was important that we managed to close down the gaps and that we played with the right level of aggressiveness. We were able to keep them from getting within sight of our goal and managed to be clinical with our chances at the other end. We've been able to draw confidence from the setbacks we've experienced."
Milos Veljkovic: "We saw it as an opportunity and didn't have much to lose, because no one would have expected us to win. A massive compliment to the team and to those players that came off the bench. Our coaching staff as well – they really gave us a lot of energy. We knew that it would be a challenge and we put in a fantastic performance, both in defence and attack. It was important that we made the most of our first chance on goal in a game such as this in order to take the lead. We always have to be willing to push ourselves to the limit in order to come out on top, as we saw today. We really wanted to give the fans something to celebrate."
Mitchell Weiser: "Not many people believed in us, but the fact that we managed to win a game like this is testament to us as a team. We left it all out there on the pitch and did everything we could to get the win. It's small details that make the difference. We needed to be alert at all times, which we were. It was a strong performance from us and we managed to put the game to be at the end. I hope that it will give us confidence for our upcoming games."

Michael Zetterer: "We're very happy to be returning home with all three points. Last weekend we saw an improved performance from the team and today we all had a good day. Keeping a clean sheet is always a great feeling and I wanted to show a reaction after last weekend's defeat, which I accept the blame for. It's great that we managed it today. We were able to take another step in the right direction and gave it everything as a team, which is the only way you can manage to win here. I hope that we're able to draw momentum from this win."
Romano Schmid: "I'm proud of the team. Everyone dug deep and gave it everything for each other, which is the only way we will be able to win games. We had been conceding far too many goals and today we kept a clean sheet, which feels really good. Zetti kept us in it during some key moments in the game, and we got stuck into every tackle. We didn't do everything right today, against a strong team, but we did it as a team and that's the only way to win."
