The Hammers appear to be on the brink of parting ways with under pressure boss Julen Lopetegui, who has seen his future become increasingly uncertain over recent weeks.

Talks have been held with former Chelsea manager Graham Potter over taking charge at the London Stadium, but it remains unclear when the axe will fall on Lopetegui as he fights to save his job.

The uncertainty around the manager situation has seen West Ham lose ground in the hunt for OH Leuven midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi, according to ExWHUemployee.

West Ham face ‘a lot of competition’ for him and Ligue 1 side Monaco are one of the clubs to have gained an advantage in the chase.

The 19-year-old came through the youth set-up at Dutch side NAC Breda, but moved to Belgian outfit OH Leuven in the summer of 2023.

Banzuzi has made 21 appearances in total for Leuven this season, providing five assists and chipping in with two goals.

He has also been capped by the Netherlands up to Under-21 level and West Ham may have to delay making their approach until they are sure what is happening with the manager situation.
