Amorim told make bold decision by dropping ‘very inconsistent’ Man Utd star in UEL final

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has been urged to bench Rasmus Hojlund in the Europa League final against Tottenham.
The Red Devils have been enduring a miserable campaign, as illustrated by their shocking 16th place in the Premier League standings.
For his part, the misfiring Hojlund has been the poster boy of the club’s attacking woes. The Dane has only managed to find the back of the net on four occasions in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, the lack of options upfront has been forcing Amorim to stick with the 22-year-old through thick and thin.
And yet, former Spurs midfielder Mike Brown insists that Man Utd would be better off without Hojlund when they lock horns with Ange Postecoglou’s men on May 21 in Bilbao, insisting that the striker has been too inconsistent to warrant a starting spot in this season-defining fixture.
“I think we have to understand that he’s still young and still learning and in a side that has been very inconsistent, but he’s got to get better,” Brown said of Hojlund on The Football News Show via UtdDistrict.
“I think I’d be saying is, ‘How do you affect the game? How do we know you’re there? Is it physical presence, is it pressing, is it hold up play, is it scoring a goal, is it creating?”

With Joshua Zirkzee out with an injury and Chido Obi-Martin not registered on the Europa League list, Hojlund is the only available striker at Amorim’s disposal.
Nevertheless, Brown believes fielding an extra midfielder would be more beneficial for United.
“He just not really doing enough and when you come to the final, I’d possibly not play him – you’ll find another answer.
“I think there’s other players, that extra player in midfield. His place is in a little bit of doubt and he has to perform very quickly.”
With Mason Mount and Amad Diallo both delivering the goods following their return from injuries, perhaps they could join Alejandro Garnacho in attack, with one of the trio playing as a false 9.
However, it should be noted that Hojlund has been more clinical in Europe compared to his miserable domestic stats, as evidenced by the table below.
