The Brazilian has terminated his contract with Juventus by mutual consent, which is yet to be officially confirmed by Juventus, but has been reported by numerous outlets on Monday morning.

He is set to return to his home nation to sign for Flamengo, turning down an offer to join Antonio Conte’s table-topping Napoli in the process.

“Dear Bianconeri, I don’t know where to start. I knew this day would come sooner or later, but one is never ready to say goodbye. I’ve spent five and a half years here, and for me, it became my life,” Danilo said in his farewell message.

“It’s never easy to separate from a true love, from a place that has given me so much, from a shirt that’s brought so many great feelings, from a club whose values align those that I’ve shared throughout my career.”

The 33-year-old has made 213 appearances in all competitions for the Bianconeri since signing from Manchester City back in 2019, and has also lifted the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia twice during his time in Turin.
