Tijjani Reijnders was very happy with his brace against Club Brugge, which brought Milan 3 points.

After back-to-back defeats in the Champions League against Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen, Milan managed to get the win last night at San Siro when they took on Club Brugge.

Kyriani Sabbe (51′) equalized after Christian Pulisic’s opener despite Brugge finding themselves in 10 men from the 40′ minute (Raphael Onyedika red card after VAR intervention), but two excellent Tijjani Reijnders goals (61′, 71′) with assists from two subs – Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze brought home the victory.

“I am dreaming. I was waiting for these first Champions League goals – I was waiting for one, and then two arrived so even better,” the Dutchman told Sky Italia. “In the first half we weren’t up to par, we were playing a bit too slow, and then they went into numerical inferiority and we found more space. But we really work up after their equalizer.”

What was missing in this missing?“In the first half we were lacking intensity, the substitutes brought the energy we were missing with two very important assists.”

You conceded a goal in 11 v 10…“It’s difficult to say why, we will certainly have to watch and analyze the match. We can’t concede a goal in numerical superiority, this must not happen again.”

What is your favourite position?“It’s all the same for me, today I played in a bit more forward position and above all I was looking for more space in front of goal. In generate I like to play a bit deeper so I’m more involved in the game.”

You scored after the substitution of Leão, how did you see him?“There are many leaders in this group. We need everyone and everyone must be a leader in their own way. Everyone must give their contribution and tonight the guys who came on during the game made the difference.”
