This is according to the Mail Online's Simon Jones, who has linked Sheffield United, Watford and West Bromwich Albion as being the three teams interested in the Liverpool youngster.

The 19-year-old has been honing his trade in Staffordshire, making 29 appearances for the Potters in all competitions. During that period, he has found the back of the net four times and also contributed with two assists.

Although there have been some lacklustre performances typical of a young player still developing, Koumas has shown enough potential to suggest he has a bright future, and in a more creative team, the Welshman could truly flourish.

This has made the interest from some of the division's more threatening sides particularly noteworthy, and Liverpool may now consider recalling the youngster to carefully assess the best pathway for his continued development.

As detailed by Jones, it is the Blades, West Brom and Watford who are keen on Koumas. Respectively, they sit third, sixth and ninth with all three teams scoring far more goals than Stoke this season.

According to his report, the Reds are happy with the progress he has made at the bet365 Stadium so far and believe the experience he is gaining is suitable.

However, with the aforementioned trio keen, it is plausible that Liverpool winger's head could turn due to the fact the trio are currently battling for promotion and the play-offs.

In addition, with Koumas' father, Jason, a previous star player for West Brom in the 2000's, it could be the Baggies that hold the edge if Arne Slot were to look elsewhere for the attacker's development.

Stoke will be hoping this isn't the case, and they are understood to remain hopeful about retaining Koumas till the end of the season.

Lewis Koumas may be best suited at West Brom

Looking across his options, Koumas would likely be best suited by sourcing a move to The Hawthorns, with Albion in desperate need of creativity.

This season, they have been ultra-reliant on Josh Maja, Karlan Grant and Tom Fellows, all of whom have been in superb form.

However, that left-wing spot has brought some trouble to West Brom with Mikey Johnston not hitting the same heights as he displayed last season.

The arrival of Koumas would help ease the pressure on that front three and provide the Welshman with the opportunity to thrive in a higher-quality team.
