Designers at Puma are set to add a ‘tonal sash’ to Manchester City’s 2025/26 home shirt, according to new reports providing early information on the proposed kit.

Next season’s editions of Manchester City kits will follow a hugely popular range from the ongoing campaign, as designers at Puma took on a number of bold concepts and put them into practice – received incredibly well by fans of the club.

While the home shirt paid tribute to Manchester itself and the region as a whole through references to the iconic ‘0161’ calling code, it was the away shirt that has grabbed the attention of both supporters old and young.

Puma and Manchester City teamed up to recreated the iconic 1999 play-off final shirt, worn by Paul Dickov and his teammates as the forward scored a late equalising goal to rescue a two goal deficit, leading on to a penalty shoot-out win at Wembley.

The home shirt of the 2025/26 season will also feature an iconic design feature of previous Manchester City alternative kits, but become the first home shirt in the history of the club to take on a ‘sash’ feature.

According to new information leaked by Footy Headlines, Manchester City’s home kit for the 2025/26 season will combine the club’s traditional sky blue base colour with a ‘tonal sash’ across the jersey.

The report featured an image that is stressed to be for illustrative purposes only, but gives supporters and football fans across the globe an idea as to what Puma designers may have in mind when it comes to Manchester City’s next home shirt.

Manchester City have seen numerous alternative shirts feature a sash design, with a predominantly white third strip in the 2009/10 season taking on a black and red sash across the front of the shirt, accompanied by gold features.

There is also an understanding in some quarters that a white alternative strip will return to Manchester City’s range of kits for the 2025/26 campaign, however it remains unknown as to whether that will involve the away or third editions.
